A family business, powering Cornwall for over 35 years
Our Story
Dowrick Electrical was founded in the 1990s as a local electrical contractor serving the St Austell area. More than 35 years later we’re still family-owned and family-run. Nigel, Catherine and James Dowrick lead the business day to day from our base at Rockhill Business Park in Cornwall.
A lot has changed in that time. Homes and businesses now generate and store their own energy, and drivers charge their cars on the driveway. We’ve grown with those changes. What hasn’t changed is how we work: every job is done properly, safely and to a standard we’d be happy to put our name to, because it is our name.

Our Team
Our team brings together approved electricians, a dedicated solar division, health and safety leadership, and a friendly office team who keep everything running smoothly. Pebble, our office pooch, plays his part too.
We’re proud to invest in the next generation. We currently have several electrical apprentices and a business administration apprentice learning their trade with us. Training local people and keeping skills in Cornwall has always mattered to us, and it’s a big part of why we’ll still be here for the next 35 years.
